Resume

The prevalence of gastrointestinal diseases among the population of Surkhandarya region, characterized by a hot climate, represents a pressing medical and social issue in public health. This study analyzed morbidity data from 2017 to 2024 across various age groups and districts. Findings revealed a general decrease in cases up to 2022, followed by a significant increase in 2023 and 2024, particularly in peptic ulcers and biliary tract diseases. The growing incidence is attributed to poor dietary habits, limited diagnostic capacity, insufficient quality of medical care, and socio-psychological factors. Based on the results, recommendations were proposed to enhance preventive care, implement population screening programs, and improve community health education and nutrition awareness.
