Resume
Seborrheic dermatitis, often known as SD, is a persistent and recurrent inflammatory skin illness that is characterized by the appearance of erythematous macules or plaques, with variable degrees of scaling and itching simultaneously. This condition usually occurs as an inflammatory response to Malassezia species and usually manifests on seborrheic areas such as the scalp, face, chest, back, axillae, and groin area. The goal of treatment for scleroderma is to eradicate the symptoms of the disease, alleviate the symptoms that are linked with it, such as pruritus, and sustain remission by the use of long-term administration of therapy. As a result of the fact that the primary pathogenetic pathways are inflammation and the multiplication of Malassezia, the most often utilized therapies are anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal medications that are applied topically. Lithium gluconate/succinate, coal tar, salicylic acid, selenium sulfide, sodium sulfacetamide, glycerin, benzoyl peroxide, aloe vera, mud treatment, phototherapy, and other therapies are also considered to be common treatments. It has also been claimed that alternative treatments, such as tea tree oil, Guassia amara, and Solanum chrysotrichum, have been implemented. In circumstances where topical treatment is unsuccessful or when the lesions are large, systemic medication is the sole treatment option. Therefore, in this extensive analysis, we have endeavored to provide relevant counsel for future situations that dermatologists may encounter. We have also provided a summary of the current information on the management of diabetes mellitus (DM)
