BIOMECHANICAL TESTING OF THE SPOKE-ROD SYSTEM FOR EXTERNAL FIXATION OF SHIN BONES UNDER VARIOUS COMPRESSIVE LOADS

Resume
Objective. Determination of the stability of the spoke-rod external fixation apparatus in unstable fractures of the shin bones in children under various compressive loads. Material and methods. Determination of stable operation during fixation of fracture sites and vulnerable points of the system, biomechanical tests of the "spoke–rod external fixation device" were carried out in the laboratory "Dynamics of Spatial Systems" of the Urazbaev Institute of Mechanics and Seismic Resistance of Structures of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Conclusions. At a load of P=17 kgf (167 N), the bone parts came into contact. A further increase in the load leads to an increase in stress at the point of contact, which increases to a load value of P = 31 kgf (304 N), and then the parts of the bone slide at the site of the simulated fracture. Indications for the use of our device were oblique, helical and comminuted diaphyseal fractures of both shin bones at the level of the middle third.
