Resume

Tuberculosis of the maxillofacial bones represents a serious medical and social problem in modern dentistry and phthisiology, requiring an interdisciplinary approach to diagnosis and treatment. Despite the general trend towards decreasing tuberculosis incidence, the frequency of bone-destructive forms affecting the maxillofacial region does not show significant reduction, which is associated with difficulties in early diagnosis, peculiarities of disease progression, and increasing drug resistance of mycobacteria. According to current data, the frequency of osteoarticular tuberculosis accounts for 10-15% of all extrapulmonary forms, with maxillofacial bone involvement observed in 0.5-2% of osteoarticular tuberculosis cases. The problem is compounded by the lack of a unified approach to organizing dental care for this category of patients and insufficient integration between dental and phthisiology services, often leading to diagnostic errors and delayed initiation of specific therapy

Keywords: tuberculosis of maxillofacial bones, personalized dental care, interdisciplinary approach, tuberculous osteomyelitis, diagnostic algorithms, surgical treatment, rehabilitation
