ASSESSMENT OF THE IMPACT OF BARIATRIC TREATMENT ON THE COURSE OF NON-ALCOHOLIC FATTY LIVER DISEASE IN OBESE PATIENTS

Resume
Currently, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has become a leading condition among chronic liver diseases, accounting for 71.6% of their total cases. Its prevalence is increasing, including among young individuals. This article reviews literature dedicated to bariatric therapy in patients with NAFLD and comorbid obesity, and describes a clinical case as an example of such a condition in a 45-year-old female patient. The effectiveness of a comprehensive approach in a patient with NAFLD and obesity is noted. The presented case demonstrates that laparoscopic gastric banding contributed to weight reduction and positively influenced the course of gastroenterological diseases, improved quality of life, and reduced the risk of exacerbations
