Inflammatory bowel diseases are chronic relapsing immunologically mediated gastrointestinal diseases of unknown etiology. Recently, more and more studies have been devoted to the relationship between human microbiota and gastrointestinal tract function. Due to the rapid development, high therapeutic efficacy, and biosafety of gas-based theranostics, hydrogen medicine has gained particular importance, since hydrogen gas obtained from microorganisms has powerful antioxidant, antiapoptotic, and anti-inflammatory effects in many disease models
