Resume

Chronic pancreatitis is a chronic fibro-inflammatory disease of the pancreas characterized by recurrent abdominal pain, diabetes mellitus, and nutritional impairment. It can lead to a range of complications, including pseudocyst formation, benign biliary strictures, gastric outlet obstruction, as well as vascular complications such as venous thrombosis, variceal bleeding, and pseudoaneurysmal hemorrhage. The development of varices is generally associated with chronic venous thrombosis and collateral formation, with variceal bleeding typically responding well to endoscopic therapy. Bleeding from a pseudoaneurysm can be catastrophic and requires radiological intervention—digital subtraction angiography followed by endovascular obliteration, or in technically challenging cases, percutaneous or endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided access. Bleeding related to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures is more often of venous origin and usually amenable to conservative treatment. However, arterial bleeding post-procedures may necessitate radiological intervention
