Resume

Relevance. Psoriasis is a systemic immune-inflammatory disease often accompanied by metabolic disorders such as obesity, dyslipidemia, arterial hypertension, and insulin resistance. The presence of metabolic syndrome (MS) in such patients worsens the course of psoriatic dermatosis and increases the risk of developing severe somatic complications. Objective. To assess the prevalence and structure of metabolic syndrome in patients with various clinical forms of psoriasis, taking into account the severity, sex, and age. Materials and Methods. The study included 210 patients with a confirmed diagnosis of psoriasis undergoing inpatient treatment. Clinical and laboratory examinations were conducted, including severity assessment using the PASI index, biochemical and immunological studies, ultrasound diagnostics, and consultations with related specialists. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS software. Results. A moderate form of psoriasis was identified in 48.6% of patients. Metabolic syndrome, including obesity (27.6%), type 2 diabetes mellitus (7.6%), and other carbohydrate metabolism disorders, was diagnosed in 38.6% of cases. A significant association was found between the severity of psoriasis and the frequency of metabolic disorders. The most common comorbid conditions were liver diseases (45.2%), nervous system disorders (39.05%), and gastrointestinal diseases (26.6%). Conclusions. The data indicate a close association between psoriasis and components of metabolic syndrome, especially in progressive forms of the disease. The findings emphasize the need for an interdisciplinary approach to the management of patients with psoriasis and for the early detection of metabolic disorders
