Resume

Every individual has the fundamental right to physical and mental well-being. Couples should have the autonomy to determine the timing of parenthood, the number of children they wish to have, and the intervals between births. Infertility represents not only a medical condition but also a significant social concern, as it often leads to disruptions in family dynamics, reduced social functioning, diminished work productivity, and, consequently, a decline in overall quality of life. To this day, infertility remains one of the three most common complaints among women seeking gynecological care, frequently resulting in psychological distress, heightened anxiety, and depression. The term fertility refers to the natural capacity to conceive, and it differs from fecundability, which denotes the probability of conception within a single menstrual cycle, and fecundity, which refers to the ability to achieve a live birth per cycle. Among couples attempting to conceive, approximately 50% of women become pregnant within three months, 75% within six months, and nearly 90% within one year. This article deals with the etiology, epidemiology, classification and different management options of secondary infertility in women
