USE OF CHEEK FAT PAD IN URANOPLASTY: AN ANATOMICAL AND FUNCTIONAL PERSPECTIVE

The buccal fat pad (BFP) is a vascularized anatomical structure with unique morphofunctional characteristics, which allows it to be successfully used in uranoplasty, especially in the closure of palatine fistulas and secondary correction of congenital clefts of the hard and soft palate. The aim of this work is a comprehensive analysis of the anatomy of the GBF, its functional potential, surgical applicability and the results of reconstructive interventions. The article reviews modern approaches to mobilization and transposition of the GBF, evaluates clinical outcomes and provides recommendations for optimizing surgical techniques
