Resume

Hypertension is a widespread and serious cardiovascular condition, often progressing asymptomatically and leading to life-threatening complications such as stroke, heart failure, and kidney damage. This article reviews the epidemiological trends of hypertension in Uzbekistan, highlights key risk factors including genetics, and presents recent regional screening data from Karakalpakstan. Notably, novel polymorphisms in AGT, NOS3, and AGTR2 genes have been associated with increased risk and target-organ damage in the Uzbek population. In light of rising cardiovascular mortality, the article emphasizes the need for early diagnosis, lifestyle interventions, and modern treatment strategies such as single-pill combinations

Keywords: hypertension, arterial hypertension, blood pressure, diagnosis, treatment, risk factors, pharmacotherapy, prevention, clinical signs, cardiology
