Resume

Van Gieson staining was effective in detecting interstitial fibrosis in adrenal tissues, and in cases of rheumatoid arthritis, the degree of fibrosis was found to be particularly high in the striated area. The study revealed that complex morphofunctional changes occurred in the structure of the adrenal gland against the background of rheumatoid arthritis. These changes were mainly associated with inflammatory, autoimmune and stress adaptation mechanisms, which were manifested by the re-formation of the zonal order in the morphology of the gland, vascular changes and changes in the cellular composition. These results serve as an important scientific basis for understanding the response of the adrenal gland to autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, as well as for the development of new pharmacotherapeutic approaches
