Resume

This article presents a pathomorphological analysis of the decreased expression of collagen type IV in cruciate ligament tissues in post-traumatic gonarthrosis. Cruciate ligaments are essential structures responsible for maintaining the mechanical stability of the knee joint. Collagen type IV is a major component of the extracellular matrix and plays a significant role in tissue trophism and regeneration. The study revealed a marked reduction in collagen IV expression in the cruciate ligaments under post-traumatic conditions, accompanied by fibrosis, hyalinization, and impaired microvascularization. These structural alterations may contribute to the functional deterioration of the ligaments and the progression of gonarthrosis
