Resume

In recent years, there has been growing interest in the use of photodynamic therapy (PDT) in urological practice, particularly in the management of inflammatory diseases of the scrotum. The method combines photosensitizing agents with light irradiation of a specific wavelength, providing local antimicrobial action and stimulation of tissue regeneration. The study demonstrated the feasibility of applying PDT in patients with purulent-destructive forms of orchiepididymitis in combination with surgical treatment. A faster reduction of inflammatory response, alleviation of pain, lower complication rates, and decreased need for repeated surgical interventions were observed. These findings highlight the potential of photodynamic therapy as an effective adjunct to standard treatment strategies in clinical urology.
