Resume
This study presents the results of an investigation into the morphofunctional characteristics of testicular tissue in 5-7 months -old outbred white rats under experimental rheumatoid arthritis. A comparative analysis of age-related changes in morphological structures and functional parameters of the tissue was carried out. It was found that the development of rheumatoid arthritis is accompanied by pronounced destructive alterations in the testes, the severity of which increases with the age of the animals. A decrease in the number of interstitial endocrinocytes, degenerative processes in the seminiferous tubules, and disturbances in organometric parameters were observed. The obtained data indicate a significant impact of rheumatoid arthritis on the condition of the reproductive system and suggest that the identified changes may represent one of the possible mechanisms of reduced male fertility in the context of chronic inflammatory processes.
Keywords: experimental rheumatoid arthritis; age-related changes; testes; organometric parameters.
