Resume

The authors of the article highlight the issues of diagnosis and prevention of colonic anastomotic leakage (CAL) and show that the incidence of this complication in colorectal surgery remains high. Prevention of this complication is a huge problem.

The authors conclude that early diagnosis and timely intervention in CAL are essential to reduce morbidity and mortality. At the same time, the search and development of new methods for stimulating healing processes in the anastomosis zone using laser exposure is a highly significant direction for improving the results of resection operations on the colon.

Keywords. colonic anastomotic leakage, suture failure of intestinal anastomoses, laser therapy, prevention.
