Resume

Chronic generalized periodontitis remains one of the most pressing issues in dentistry due to its high prevalence, diagnostic complexity, and the risk of tooth loss. This study presents the results of comprehensive orthopedic treatment in 60 patients with moderate chronic periodontitis using adhesive splinting combined with professional hygiene, physiotherapy, and microbiological control. Clinical, radiological, functional (gnathodynamometry, laser Doppler flowmetry), and microbiological evaluations were performed. The findings demonstrated a significant reduction in inflammatory indices (PMA, PBI, OHI-S), increased masticatory force, and improved microcirculation. Radiographic analysis revealed increased bone density and cortical plate thickness in the alveolar process. Microbiological analysis confirmed the restoration of normal oral microflora and a decrease in pathogenic species. The adhesive splinting method, as part of an integrated treatment strategy, not only stabilizes teeth functionally but also normalizes biological processes in periodontal tissues, ensuring long-term therapeutic success and prevention of recurrence.
