Resume

Uterine fibroids are benign, well-demarcated, encapsulated tumors originating from the smooth muscle cells of the cervix or body of the uterus. They are known to occur in one in four to five women, or approximately 25% of women over 35 years of age. Some data suggest that up to 70% of women of reproductive age may have uterine fibroids. According to pathological studies, uterine fibroids are detected in 80%. In reproductive age, the incidence of fibroids is 20-40%, and they are also associated with 5 to 10% of female infertility cases. Current research in this area requires cellular and subcellular studies following invasive examinations of this area.
