PROSTATE GLAND MORPHOLOGY AND FUNCTION UNDER CONDITIONS OF INDUCED MICRONUTRIENT DEFICIENCY

Resume
Micronutrient deficiency leads to significant morphofunctional impairments in the prostate gland by increasing oxidative stress, causing epithelial cell degeneration, stromal fibrosis, and disrupting androgen receptor signaling. These changes compromise secretory function and predispose the prostate to pathological conditions such as benign prostatic hyperplasia and cancer. Adequate intake of trace elements like zinc, iron, copper, magnesium, and selenium is essential for maintaining prostate health. Nutritional strategies targeting micronutrient balance may offer protective effects and reduce prostate disease incidence. Future research should focus on molecular mechanisms and development of early diagnostic biomarkers to optimize prevention and treatment.
Keywords: Prostate gland, micronutrient deficiency, zinc, oxidative stress, epithelial degeneration, benign prostatic hyperplasia, prostate cancer.
