THE SIGNIFICANCE OF GIS TECHNOLOGIES IN EPIDEMIOLOGICAL RESEARCH: A MODERN APPROACH

Samadov F.F. - Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sina

Resume

The article scientifically substantiates the role and strategic significance of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in modern epidemiology. GIS technologies are characterized as innovative tools that demonstrate high efficiency in identifying the spatial and temporal dynamics of disease distribution, modeling epidemic processes, and forecasting risk zones. The study analyzes the potential of integrating GIS with statistical, demographic, and eco-epidemiological data. Furthermore, the role of information systems in digital epidemiology is revealed, particularly in improving data quality and enabling rapid and interactive analytical processes. It is scientifically justified that the implementation of GIS technologies in the epidemiological surveillance system of Uzbekistan can significantly enhance the accuracy of scientific analyses on infectious and non-communicable diseases, improve the effectiveness of preventive measures, and accelerate the digital transformation of the healthcare system.

Keywords: Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Spatial Epidemiology, Geoinformation Technologies, Epidemiological Geoanalytics, Geoepidemiological Modeling, Epidemic Clustering and Risk Zone Forecasting, Interactive Epidemiological Mapping, Data Integration and Geocoding, Digital Epidemiological Monitoring and Surveillance System.
