This article analyzes the impact of COVID-19 infection on the human immune system, focusing on immune response mechanisms and factors influencing disease severity. It highlights the role of SARS-CoV-2 in cytokine storm development, T-lymphocyte dysfunction, and humoral immunity suppression. The importance of immunomodulators and vaccines in prevention is also discussed.
