Resume
This study assessed the prevalence and diagnostic significance of non-specific signs—fatigue, attention deficits, sleep disturbances, anemia, and growth retardation—in 150 children with stages I–III chronic kidney disease (CKD). These symptoms were present in the majority of patients and significantly differed from the control group. Correlations were established between decreased eGFR and the severity of cognitive and somatic impairments. The combination of fatigue, anemia, and poor academic performance showed high diagnostic value (AUC=0.94) for CKD detection. It is recommended to include these signs in pediatric screening programs for early identification of CKD.
Keywords: chronic kidney disease; children; cognitive impairment; fatigue; growth; anemia; early screening.
