Resume
This study examined morphological and morphometric changes in the thyroid gland of white rats under experimental magnesium deficiency. The comparative analysis of gland mass, follicular dimensions, colloid density, and capillary network density revealed significant dystrophic alterations in the parenchyma and impaired microcirculation. An increase in intervascular distance and a reduction in capillary diameter indicated a slowdown of metabolic processes. The findings emphasize the essential role of magnesium homeostasis in maintaining endocrine function.
Keywords: magnesium deficiency, thyroid gland, white rats, morphometry, follicles, colloid, microcirculation.
