Resume

Chronic tonsillitis (CT) is one of the most common inflammatory diseases of the oropharynx in both children and adults. Its prevalence reaches 5–15% in adults and up to 25% in children. CT is associated with reduced local immunity, formation of persistent microbial biofilms, frequent relapses, intoxication, and the risk of severe complications such as rheumatism, glomerulonephritis, and myocarditis. Given the increasing antibiotic resistance and the limitations of traditional therapy, interest in immunomodulatory drugs is growing. These agents improve the condition of the mucosa, enhance local immune responses, and reduce the frequency of exacerbations. Therefore, studying the features and effectiveness of immunomodulatory therapy in CT is a relevant and clinically significant direction.
