Hepatocellular carcinoma is a primary malignant lesion of the liver (hepatocellular carcinoma), characterized by rapid progression and poor prognosis. A direct connection between the development of hepatocellular carcinoma and chronic liver diseases caused by hepatitis C, B, D viruses and cirrhosis of the liver has been proven.
