MORPHOLOGICAL CHANGES IN THE DENTAL-JAW SYSTEM IN PARTIAL AND COMPLETE ADENTIA

Resume
The objective of this study was to investigate morphological changes in the dental system in partial and complete edentulism based on an analysis of clinical and morphometric data. This article summarizes current understanding of bone resorption, soft tissue changes, and functional impairments, and demonstrates their clinical significance for orthopedic rehabilitation. Adentia remains one of the leading medical and social problems in orthopedic dentistry. According to the World Health Organization, partial tooth loss occurs in more than 70% of the adult population, while complete adentia occurs in 15–30% of elderly and senile individuals. Despite the development of modern orthopedic and implant treatment methods, the morphological consequences of adentia continue to pose a significant clinical challenge.
Key words: adentia, morphological changes, alveolar ridge, bone resorption, dental system.
