Resume

Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are a group of neurodevelopmental disorders characterized by impaired social communication, limited interests, and recurring behavioral patterns. According to the World Health Organization, the prevalence of ASD is 1 case per 100 children, making this problem particularly relevant for modern medicine. Dental treatment of children with ASD presents significant clinical difficulties due to the peculiarities of their psycho-emotional state. Hypersensitivity to sensory stimuli, anxiety, communication disorders, and behavioral characteristics create serious obstacles to dental procedures. Statistical data show that 70-85% of children with ASD have pronounced dental problems, including caries, periodontal diseases, and traumatic teeth injuries, often associated with self-harmful behavior.
