MODERN APPROACHES TO THE TREATMENT OF ACUTE SMALL BOWEL OBSTRUCTION IN THE FERGANA REGION

Resume

Acute small bowel obstruction (ASO) remains one of the most pressing issues in emergency abdominal surgery, associated with a high rate of complications and mortality. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of current diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in patients with ASO treated in the surgical department of the Fergana Regional Multidisciplinary Medical Center. Materials and Methods: A prospective study of 152 patients with confirmed ASO was conducted. They underwent clinical and laboratory tests, instrumental imaging, and conservative and surgical therapy. Outcomes, complication rates, and factors influencing treatment outcomes are analyzed. The results demonstrate the advantages of standardized diagnostic algorithms and timely surgical correction, reducing mortality and the incidence of postoperative complications. The main findings are aimed at optimizing the work of emergency medical and surgical services and developing regional treatment protocols.
