Resume

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a polygenic endocrine disorder caused by hereditary and environmental factors. According to various sources, the incidence of PCOS in women of reproductive age ranges from 6-9% to 19.9%, and it develops during or shortly after menarche. This review focuses on recent studies on the pathogenesis and treatment of PCOS. It presents the commonly accepted approaches to treating PCOS, including proper nutrition, gut microbiota, and assisted reproductive technologies.
