IMPROVING THE SYSTEM FOR ORGANIZING THE CLINICAL CARE OF PATIENTS WITH PHACOGENIC GLAUCOMA

Resume

The proportion of early-stage phacogenic glaucoma at the time of registration for clinical care in 2022 was 47.5% (by 2023, it decreased to 11.3%); the proportion of advanced glaucoma was 38.4% (by 2024, it decreased to 19.4%). Our retrospective analysis of the main indicators of prevalence, morbidity, and disability in glaucoma patients over a long period of time (3 years) and a comparative analysis of this indicator over this period showed that: the prevalence of phacogenic glaucoma in the Samarkand region increased from 4.7 in 1995 to 1.5 in 2010. to 6.2 in 2022 per 1,000 adult population (or 0.6 per 10,000 adult population). When comparing this indicator over this period of time, the increase in prevalence is even more clearly visible (from 2.6 in 2023 to 6.2 in 2025 per 1,000 adult population). When comparing the incidence rate of primary open-angle glaucoma in the Samarkand region over this period of time, two stages are clearly visible: the first stage, when a steady increase in the indicator was noted (from 0.9 in 2022 to 1.3 in 2023), which was explained by a well-established system of active patient detection, which was in place at that time in the region; the second stage (from 2024 to the present) is characterized by stabilization and some decrease in the incidence of phacogenic glaucoma.
