Resume
Congenital anomalies of the brain and organ of vision represent a heterogeneous group of pathological conditions formed as a result of disruptions in embryogenesis at various stages of ontogenetic development. The pathogenetic basis of these disorders is associated with the disregulation of molecular-genetic mechanisms of morphogenesis, which control the processes of neurulation, the formation of the eyeball, and the differentiation of neuroectodermal derivatives. Epidemiological data indicate that isolated anomalies of the central nervous system occur at 2-3 per 1000 newborns, while congenital defects of the organ of vision are diagnosed at 1.5-2.5 per 10,000 children.
Keywords: congenital brain anomalies, congenital anomalies of the organ of vision, comprehensive diagnostics, neurovisualization, ophthalmoscopy, magnetic resonance imaging
