NONCOMMUNICABLE DISEASES AND THEIR PREVENTION: MODERN APPROACHES
Boltayeva G.R. - Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sina
Resume
Objective: To analyze epidemiology of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), main risk factors and prevention strategies. Materials and methods: Analysis of international studies 2020-2025, WHO data and national statistics. Results: NCDs account for 74% of global deaths. Four main groups: cardiovascular diseases (CVD), cancer, chronic respiratory diseases, diabetes. Common risk factors: tobacco, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, harmful alcohol use. In Uzbekistan, CVD accounts for over 60% of deaths. Prevention at two levels: primary (healthy lifestyle) and secondary (early detection, screening). WHO "4×4" strategy - preventing four main diseases through reducing four risk factors. Conclusion: NCDs are global burden, mainly lifestyle-related. Prevention is most effective strategy: healthy diet, physical activity, tobacco and alcohol cessation. Government policy, public education and health system strengthening are necessary.
Key words: noncommunicable diseases, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes, prevention.
