Resume

Prelabor rupture of membranes (PROM) remains one of the most relevant problems in modern obstetrics due to its high prevalence and association with adverse maternal and perinatal outcomes. The management of women with PROM, especially at term, remains controversial and ranges from expectant management to active labor induction. This review analyzes current approaches to labor induction in cases of PROM and evaluates the efficacy and safety of dinoprostone, misoprostol, and oxytocin based on published data. The analysis demonstrates that cervical status is a key determinant of successful labor induction. The use of prostaglandins for cervical ripening increases the rate of vaginal delivery and reduces the induction-to-delivery interval while maintaining an acceptable safety profile. An individualized approach to labor induction, considering maternal and fetal factors, is recommended.

Key words: prelabor rupture of membranes; induction of labor; dinoprostone; misoprostol; oxytocin.
