Resume

Parasitic infections are widespread among children and remain a significant medical and social problem in pediatrics and infectious diseases. According to current data, more than 1.5 billion people worldwide are infected with helminths, with a significant proportion of these being preschool- and school-age children. In countries with warm climates and poor sanitation, the rate of parasitic infestation is particularly high. In the Republic of Uzbekistan, parasitic diseases are among the most common; intestinal helminthiasis is the most common, accounting for over 90% of all parasitoses. The aim of this study was to determine the role of helminthic infestation in the development of oral diseases. The study was conducted on a cohort of school-age children with initial manifestations of caries, manifested by focal demineralization of enamel. This study underscores the need for early diagnosis and preventive and therapeutic measures aimed at stabilizing the process and restoring the mineralization potential of enamel. When analyzing the state of focal demineralization and the oral mucosa during the initial dental examination, additional clinical signs reflecting the general condition of oral tissues and the characteristics of functional load were recorded. Taking these signs into account allowed us to broaden our understanding of children's dental status and consider it as a set of interrelated clinical manifestations.

Key words: helminthiasis, dentistry, oral cavity, enamel demineralization, protozoan parasites
