Resume

Relevance: Choosing the most appropriate and effective anesthesia method for infants is a major challenge in medicine worldwide. Children with congenital defects often have concomitant defects of two or more organs, malformations, and nervous system damage. Furthermore, the pregnancy history of mothers with such children is often complex and dangerous. Study Objective: To improve intraoperative and postoperative analgesia in infants and young children by combining three-component general and regional anesthesia techniques. Materials and Methods: The study included 78 infants aged 0 to 3 months who underwent a randomized clinical trial in 2025 at the Fergana Regional Children's Multidisciplinary Medical Center, Department of Pediatric Surgery and Intensive Care. The study consisted of six main stages: Stage 1 – indications for surgery; Stage 2 – induction, i.e., the period of induction anesthesia; Stage 3 – the period of anesthesia maintenance; Stage 4 – recovery from anesthesia; Stage 5 – the morning after surgery, i.e., the first 2 hours; and Stage 6 – the first 24 hours after surgery. Conclusion: Combined general and regional anesthesia for gastrointestinal surgery in infants is significantly more effective than traditional general endotracheal anesthesia, ensuring a safe and painless intra- and postoperative period.
