Resume
Autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) is an acquired hemolytic disease caused by autoimmune antibodies, the clinical course of which is diverse and variable. It manifests itself in various degrees, from mild and compensated hemolysis to severe clinical forms that pose a serious threat to life. AIGA is a relatively rare disease, and its prevalence is on average 1–3 cases per 100,000 population per year. The disease is manifested mainly by the rapid destruction of red blood cells due to the pathogenetic effect of autoantibodies. This process occurs mainly extravascularly, mainly in the spleen and liver, and in rare cases, it is observed in the form of intravascular hemolysis.
