CAROTID PLAQUE AS A MARKER OF AN ENHANCED INFLAMMATORY-METABOLIC PHENOTYPE AT THE DONOZOLOGICAL STAGE

Resume

The study compared clinical and metabolic features in men with and without carotid plaque within the donozological group. A total of 104 men with early vascular changes were analyzed, including 42 with plaque and 62 with isolated intima-media thickening. Men with plaque had higher age, LDL cholesterol, HOMA-IR, CRP, and CAVI. The frequency of CRP>3 mg/L and HOMA-IR>2.7 was also higher, and odds ratios indicated a significant shift toward a more unfavorable phenotype. Thus, even within the donozological spectrum, plaque identifies a subgroup with a greater metabolic and inflammatory burden.

Keywords: carotid plaque, donozological atherogenesis, CRP, HOMA-IR, CAVI, LDL cholesterol
