Depressive and anxiety disorders in patients with type 2 diabetes complicated by diabetic polyneuropathy represent a pressing clinical problem due to their high prevalence and adverse impact on their overall health and quality of life. This cross-sectional study included 184 patients examined in 2025-2026. Psychoemotional state was assessed using the BDI-II and HAM-A, and quality of life was assessed using the SF-12. Clinically significant depressive disorders were detected in 54.9% of patients, with mild and moderate forms predominating. As depression severity increased, BDI-II and HAM-A scores consistently increased, while physical and, especially, mental health components of quality of life declined. The severity of depressive symptoms correlated positively with anxiety levels, neuropathic pain intensity, and diabetes duration, and negatively with SF-12 scores. These findings support the need for early psychometric screening for anxiety-depressive disorders in patients with diabetic polyneuropathy.
