CLASSIFICATION SYSTEMS IN DYSPLASTIC COXARTHROSIS

Resume

This scientific article provides a comprehensive review of the major classification systems for dysplastic coxarthrosis (DCH) and their application in clinical orthopedic practice. Dysplastic coxarthrosis is a degenerative-dystrophic disease resulting from congenital developmental deficiency of the hip joint, with an incidence of 14.5-20 cases per 100,000 population annually. The article examines the principal classification systems proposed by Crowe, Hartofilakidis, Eftekhar, Kerboul, Mendes, and D'Antonio. Each classification is analyzed regarding its advantages and limitations, with particular emphasis on their practical importance for surgical planning and endoprosthesis selection. The authors conclude that the Eftekhar classification most comprehensively describes the anatomical changes in dysplastic acetabular structures and is most widely utilized in international orthopedic centers. Adoption of this classification system in Uzbek orthopedic practice would facilitate standardization of DCH severity assessment and enable unified registry development for total hip arthroplasty outcomes. This article serves as essential educational material for specialists in orthopedic surgery and traumatology.
