CORRECTION OF IMMUNE STATUS AND HEMOSTASIS DISTURBANCES IN COMPLICATED PNEUMONIA IN YOUNG CHILDREN DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Resume

The article analyzes the problem of acute complicated pneumonia and the experience of using the immunomodulator Polyoxidonium in children. Acute complicated pneumonia is characterized by a significant suppression of immune homeostasis, affecting all subpopulations of immunocompetent cells. Polyoxidonium has a pronounced immunomodulatory activity, has a non-specific protective effect against a wide range of pathogens, based not on the direct inhibition of microorganisms, but on the stimulation of the immunity of the macroorganism. In addition, the drug has antitoxic and antioxidant properties. In the acute period of the disease, it is recommended to prescribe Polyoxidonium in combination with etiotropic therapy, and during the rehabilitation period or to prevent infectious diseases, the drug can be used as monotherapy.
