Resume

Dysmenorrhea is one of the most common menstrual cycle disorders among adolescent girls. Its main manifestation is the presence of pain syndrome before and during menstruation. The prevalence of this condition among adolescents ranges from 8% to 90%, and in many cases it leads to disruptions in social and daily activities, as well as temporary loss of working capacity. Primary dysmenorrhea in adolescent girls is characterized by high prevalence, multifactorial nature, and a wide variety of pathogenetic mechanisms and clinical manifestations. Insufficient attention to menstrual pain syndrome may result in delayed diagnosis of certain diseases, which often have an unfavorable prognosis for reproductive health. Therefore, timely identification of the causes of primary dysmenorrhea is of great importance.

Keywords: adolescent girls, primary dysmenorrhea, menstrual cycle, prostaglandins, reproductive system, hormonal regulation, connective tissue dysplasia, deficiency states.
