Resume

Facial soft tissue deformities can occur as a result of traumatic injuries, congenital anomalies, tumor resections, burns and scarring, leading to functional and aesthetic defects. In such cases, reconstructive surgical methods play an important role. In recent years, there has been great interest in the use of biomaterials, in particular xenotransplants, in the restoration of facial soft tissue defects. Xenotransplants are rich in extracellular matrix and are characterized by stimulating tissue regeneration, angiogenesis and remodeling processes. Their biological compatibility, mechanical stability and reduced need for donor tissue are the basis for their widespread use in reconstructive surgery. This article analyzed modern scientific literature on the use of xenografts in the reconstructive treatment of facial soft tissue deformities. Morphological and biological characteristics of xenografts, their regenerative potential, clinical effectiveness and possible complications observed in their use were discussed. The analysis of the literature shows that xenografts are one of the effective biomaterials in facial reconstruction in restoring tissue contour, reducing contractures and improving aesthetic results.

Key words: facial soft tissues, xenografts, reconstructive surgery, acellular dermal matrix, extracellular matrix, angiogenesis, tissue regeneration, facial deformities.
