MORPHO-METABOLICAL CHANGES OBSERVED DURING THE TREATMENT OF EXPERIMENTAL HEPATITIS AND ULCERATIVE COLITIS WITH MUMIYA

Resume

The aim of the study is to study morpho-functional changes in primary and secondary liver damage, regenerative processes induced by mumiya. Methods. The experiments were conducted on 229 white rats weighing 140-180 g, which were fed a standard laboratory diet. Toxic liver damage was caused by subcutaneous administration of 0.12 ml of CCl4 per 100 g of body weight daily for 25 days; ulcerative colitis of the colon was caused by oral administration of the product of biogenic amine metabolism of phenol at a dose of 3 mg per 100 g of body weight for 120 days. After the cessation of CCl4 and phenol poisoning, mumiyo was administered daily for 30-35 days at doses of 5, 15, 30 and 50 mg per 100 g of body weight. Results. With toxic liver damage, CCl4, mumiyo led to an improvement in the glycogen and protein-forming functions of the liver. Under such conditions, the restorative effect of mummy is manifested in a unilateral increase in mitochondrial conjugation without normalizing the respiratory rate. Conclusion. Our studies, confirmed by biochemical data, show that the properties of mummy as a regeneration stimulator are clearly manifested in the treatment of secondary hepatitis resulting from ulcerative lesions of the colon.
