Resume

In MAFLD, inflammation is characterized by the activation of hepatic and systemic inflammatory responses with increased levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-6) and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein. These changes reflect disease severity, promote liver fibrosis progression, and increase the risk of cardiometabolic complications.

Keywords: metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD); inflammation; cytokines; TNF-α; IL-6; C-reactive protein; systemic inflammation; liver fibrosis; cardiometabolic risk.
