MODERN ASPECTS OF CHOICE OF OBSTETRIC CARE IN PROLONGED PREGNANCY

Resume

Additional studies of the fetal condition will help confirm the inadvisability of active management of prolonged pregnancy without fetoplacental insufficiency. If prolonged pregnancy is complicated by subcompensated fetoplacental insufficiency, intensive antenatal care followed by induction of labor may be advisable. If decompensated fetal insufficiency is detected based on fetal biopsy data, the issue of elective operative delivery should be considered in the best interests of the fetus.
