Resume

Preeclampsia is one of the most severe complications of pregnancy and remains a significant cause of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality worldwide. This pathological condition is characterized by the development of arterial hypertension and multiorgan dysfunction resulting from generalized endothelial injury. The organ of vision is frequently involved in the pathological process, manifesting as a range of ophthalmic complications, from transient visual disturbances to severe lesions of the retina, choroid, and optic nerve. This review discusses current perspectives on the pathogenesis of ophthalmic complications in preeclampsia, their clinical manifestations, diagnostic approaches, and the significance of modern imaging techniques.

Keywords: preeclampsia, pregnancy, eye, retina, choroid, optic nerve, ophthalmic complications, OCT.
