Resume

Menstrual cycle disorders in adolescent girls represent one of the most pressing problems in modern pediatric and adolescent gynecology. According to WHO (2023), various forms of menstrual dysfunction are registered in 25-60% of girls aged 12-18, with 35-45% of cases being functional and related to the developmental characteristics of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian system. Adolescence is characterized by an intensive restructuring of the neuroendocrine regulation of the reproductive system, the establishment of cyclical processes in the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis, and the formation of a mature ovulatory cycle. This process occurs under conditions of physiological immaturity of central regulatory mechanisms, increased lability of the autonomic nervous system, and high psycho-emotional reactivity, which creates prerequisites for the development of various forms of menstrual dysfunction.
