MODERN METHODS OF EARLY DIAGNOSIS OF ORAL LEUKOPLAKIA

Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of modern diagnostic methods for early detection of oral leukoplakia. Materials and methods: Analytical review based on international literature published in 2022-2025 and WHO data. Results: Oral leukoplakia occurs in 2-4% of population with 10.9% malignant transformation risk. Gold standard is biopsy and histological examination. Modern diagnostic methods include: toluidine blue (93% sensitivity, 73% specificity), autofluorescence (89% sensitivity), optical coherence tomography, AI-based analysis systems. AI (Xception, MobileNet-v2) differentiates leukoplakia types with 95% accuracy. Salivary biomarkers provide minimally invasive diagnosis. Conclusion: Early diagnosis is the basis for oral cancer prevention. Modern technologies enhance detection accuracy at early stages.
