THE SIGNIFICANCE OF COMPREHENSIVE ULTRASONOGRAPHY IN DETECTING ADENOMYOSIS IN PERIMENOPAUSAL WOMEN

Resume
A total of 120 perimenopausal patients were included in the study. Among them, 70 women were diagnosed with adenomyosis, and 50 perimenopausal women without gynecological diseases underwent examination and treatment in the gynecology department of the multidisciplinary clinic of Samarkand State Medical University between 2023 and 2025. Additionally, 45 medical records of perimenopausal women with histologically confirmed adenomyosis were analyzed retrospectively. It was found that the combination of adenomyosis with uterine fibroids occurred significantly more often in the main group — in 28 patients (40 ± 5.9%) compared to 9 cases (20 ± 6%) in the comparison group (p < 0.05). A comparison of ultrasound elastography data with histological findings of resected tissues demonstrated high diagnostic accuracy of the method: overall accuracy — 88.6%, sensitivity — 94.1%, specificity — 85%, positive predictive value — 80%, and negative predictive value — 95.8%. The obtained results confirm the high informativeness and effectiveness of comprehensive ultrasound examination, including elastography, in diagnosing adenomyosis and determining its degree in perimenopausal women.
