STANDARDIZED ASSESSMENT OF PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT IN PRESCHOOL CHILDREN BASED ON ANTHROPOMETRIC INDICATORS AND Z-SCORE ANALYSIS

Resume
Objective: To perform a standardized assessment of physical development in preschool children based on anthropometric indicators using Z-score analysis and centile approach. Materials and Methods: The study included 476 children aged 1.0–6.5 years living in Tashkent city and the Bakhmal district of the Jizzakh region. The following anthropometric parameters were assessed: standing height, body weight, sitting height, trunk length, and chest circumference. Statistical analysis included calculation of mean values (M), standard deviations (SD), Z-scores, and centile intervals (P3–P97). Results: Most children demonstrated anthropometric values within the physiological range (−2≤Z≤+2), indicating harmonious physical development. Age- and sex-related patterns of somatic growth were identified, along with an increase in interindividual variability with age. Conclusion: The standardized assessment using Z-score and centile analysis is a reliable and informative tool for evaluating physical development in preschool children and may be applied in health monitoring, early detection of developmental deviations, and development of regional reference standards.
